The Rookie League stresses the fundamentals of basketball for beginning 1st and 2nd graders offerring six weeks of instructional drills with no weekly practices.  Players will be exposed to dribbling, shooting, passing, and basic offense/defense.

Players are split into teams based upon the school they attend and/or friends/coach they request at the time of registration.  During the instructional phase, each team will rotate from station to station running specific drills (e.g., shooting, dribbling and passing) while learning basketball fundamentals.  Controlled scrimmages will occur after several weeks of instructional drills.

Rookie players receive an NJB uniform, a youth-size basketball, pictures, and a player participation award.

Rookie players MUST attend the player evaluation in order to support team creation and be sized for a uniform.  Failure to do so may result in players being "bumped" to the waiting list.

Rookie sessions are tentatively scheduled for:

DATES: Sundays (11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18, 1/8, 1/15)

TIMES: 8:30 am to 11:00 am
